Perfect feeding from 1 to 6,000 l/hr Recipes harmonised down to the last gram are a guarantee of quality in the compound and masterbatch industry. Digital image processing as it is used in the CAMSIZER® by Retsch Technology is one of the most accurate methods to determine the particle size distribution of flowable bulk goods. It has become a well established method in addition to sieve analysis and laser diffraction in the size range of 30 µm to 30 mm and exceeds their capabilities with regards to precision, reproducibility and obtained information by far. With the CAMSIZER, the sample is fed in from a feed channel so that all particles fall through the measurement field. During the measurement procedure two digital cameras (CCD) perform different tasks. The Basic Camera (CCD-B) detects large particles whereas the Zoom Camera (CCD-Z) records the small ones. The contact-free optical measurement is carried out in real time and simultaneously obtains all the required information about the particle size. Spark extinguishing systems have been an integral part of security concepts of preventive fire and explosion protection in the various industrial processes. The task of this technology is to detect the smallest ignition source such as sparks and glowing particles in time and to extinguish them safety by local limited extinguishing measures before these sparks and glowing particles could damage machinery or other equipment. Especially in pneumatic transport ducts is this a thousand fold proven technology to protect filter systems, silos or bins against fires or explosions. If a spark will be detected a fine extinguishing efficient water mist spray will be inserted in the corresponding exhaust ducts for an adjustable extinguishing time to safety extinguish the sparks. RETSCH presents new mills and sieve shakers Retsch, the experts in milling and particle characterization, present new product innovations at this year’s POWTECH. The versatile Mixer Mill MM 400 grinds, mixes and homogenizes two samples at the same time and can even process up to 20 samples simultaneously with adapters. This all-rounder is suitable for a great variety of materials such as ceramics, glass, soils, minerals, drugs or plastics. Thanks to the screw-top grinding jars the MM 400 can also be used for wet and cryogenic grinding. Another highlight is the Planetary Ball Mill PM 100 CM which operates in the centrifugal mode. Size reduction to the nano range is effected by friction and pressure which helps to reduce the temperature inside the grinding jar. To monitor the processes which occur during grinding, Retsch offers the new measurement system PM GrindControl which is used to document pressure and temperature inside the grinding jar. DFT truck scales, the fifth generation The experience gained from the DFT variant of the truck scales of which, more than 2,700 have been sold throughout Europe to date, can be seen in the fifth generation’s optimised concept. For example, the entire truck scales are pre-fabricated out of high-quality precast concrete parts of the C45/55 strength class.
