Urea Granules
Urea Granules

Highly efficient vibration screen for urea granules

The hygroscopic characteristics of urea often lead to clogging of the screen cloth

As the consumption of food increases worldwide, so does the demand for fertilizers. For these reasons, one of our customers has opened another plant for the production of urea fertilizers. He relies on the high quality and efficiency of RHEWUM screens.
The hygroscopic characteristics of urea can lead to lumping and clogging of the screen cloth, which has a negative effect on screen efficiency. As a pioneer of directly excited screening technology, we understand this problem and attach great importance to screening machines with automatic mesh cleaning mechanisms.

For the classification of urea granules, we use double-deck screening machines with an integrated lump screen to gently remove the lumps produced during the upstream process. We have designed 4 Rhewum wau screening machines which screen in 4 fractions: lumps (larger than 15 mm), coarse particles (4 - 15 mm), main product (2 - 4 mm) and fine particles (smaller than 2 mm).

In order to guarantee a constant distribution of the material distribution, we rely on our Rhewum sv feeders. They have an inner vibrating conveyor plate which is driven by two external out-of-balance motors. Furthermore, the static housing enables a dust-tight flange connection as well as inspections and maintenance during operation.

The tests carried out at our technology centre in Remscheid in advance enabled us to test the characteristics of the product on our machines in pilot plant size and thus to design the optimum machine that suits the customer's stringent requirements.

YARA relies on individualized RHEWUM technology
YARA in Rostock is now screening calcium ammonium nitrate with RHEWUM screening machines. Calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN) is a popular nitrogen fertilizer in agriculture for plant nutrition. Due to the difficult screening characteristics of CAN, YARA in Rostock has again opted for RHEWUM technology to expand its capacity. When increasing the capacity, our customer duplicated the existing screening line. In addition to the increase of capacity, this also results in increased availability. The new screens were modernized and modified together with the customer along with his accumulated experience and are thereby optimally adapted to the plant, which achieves a flow rate of up to 350 t/h. The construction of the plant will be realized in two stages. In the first stage, RHEWUM DF course screens with downstream RHEWUM RIUS are used (screen cut 5.0 mm). RHEWUM WA fine screens (screen cut 3.2 mm) remove the fine dust in the second stage. Several special features of the machines were taken into account during the implementation of the project. Due to the abrasive

Fertilizer producer optimizes screening process with RHEWUM
One of the world’s leading suppliers of nitrogen-based fertilizers relies on RHEWUM One of the world’s leading suppliers of nitrogen-based fertilizers optimizes its screening processes with RHEWUM machines. One of the end products, CAN (Calcium Ammonium Nitrate), known for its versatility in use, e.g. as preferred application for acid soils, is a widely used fertilizer. However, because of its hygroscopic property it depicts a problem for conventional screens, as they clog quickly. RHEWUM was entrusted with the task of classifying this fertilizer efficiently and precisely into two fractions. Therefore the producer has been using vibration screening machines of the type RHEWUM WA since 2015, which prevent the agglomeration of the particles through their high frequency and the direct excitation of the screen meshes. The anticipated quantity of bulk material of 400 tons per hour, is classified in the fractions of 2.5 millimeters and 4.5 millimeters. Essential for an efficient handling of such amounts, is an optimal distribution over the entire

Free tool for calculating purity and yield! How does the choice of separation cuts of your screening machine affect the results?
Free tool for calculating purity and yield!
How does the choice of separation cuts of your screening machine affect the results? Test how the selection of the screen cuts of your screening machine affects the results of your screening process. The new RHEWUM Screen Efficiency Calculator determines the respective purity and yield quickly and easily – without irritating formulas. Every producer aims to extract the greatest possible quantity of his product from the feed quantity without sacrificing the high level of quality. So in the ideal case yield and purity should both be 100 percent. But in practice, this is not technically possible and therefore testing is required to choose the right screen cut for your screening machine in order to extract a product with high yield and at the same maintaining the required purity. The RHEWUM Screen Efficiency Calculator uses the grain size distribution of your feed material, the chosen screen cuts and also the efficiency of the used screening machine to calculate not only the yield and purity, but also the massflow of the different fractions and to

8 RHEWUM Screens for Bagfas Fertilizer, Turkey
8 RHEWUM Screens for Bagfas Fertilizer, Turkey
On 12th of February 2008 RHEWUM could receive the order for revamping the existing screening installation of Bagfas Fertilizer in Turkey. The order has been placed by the EPC Contractor UMDE Mühendislik in Istanbul which are engineering all modifications required. The capacity expected from the RHEWUM screens is more than 4000 tons per day of NPK and more 4000 tons per day of DAP fertilizer. Process design of both plants will be realized according to the process know-how of INCRO Spain which are the licenser of this prestigious project. Delivery of the screens is foreseen for the 1st of August 2008, the re-start shall take place in October 2008.
