Magnetic separator or metal detector? About magnetic filtering, magnetic separation, several ways to remove metal foreign bodies from your product streams.
Magnetic separator or metal detector?
About magnetic filtering, magnetic separation, several ways to remove metal foreign bodies from your product streams. Magnetic separators remove metal foreign bodies from your product streams. Metal foreign bodies ’contaminate’ your product, and they can also cause severe damage to your machinery. Rejection of batches is costly, but it can be even more costly if the foreign bodies are not removed, making it necessary to conduct a product recall. You will then be faced with huge costs and reputation damage. Examples of metal contaminants / foreign bodies: staples, nails and screws, bolts and nuts that have vibrated loose, wear of the moving steel and stainless steel machine parts and rust particles (corrosion). Magnetic separators filter and remove metal contaminations from your product streams, in order to guarantee high product quality and prevent damage to machines. Magnetic separator or metal detector? A magnetic separator filters/traps (and later removes) or immediately removes the metal contaminants from the product flow. Magnetic separators cause practically no product

Solae removes metal contaminants from soya powder residue with a magnet Remove very small stainless steel and iron particles
Solae removes metal contaminants from soya powder residue with a magnet
Remove very small stainless steel and iron particles Solae Belgium N.V., a Dupont company, recently introduced a new type of magnetic separator in their powder line; the Easy cleanflow magnet from Goudsmit Magnetics of Waalre (NL). This magnet checks soya powder for metal contaminants, such as stainless steel wear particles. The metal particles get into the product as a result of friction at the dryer drum and are absolutely undesirable. No operator needed Solea`s design requirements for the magnetic separator were that no operator would be required and that cleaning of the unit could be performed safely and efficiently. The unit also had to be dust-tight, food-proof and fitted with food-safe EC1935 seals. The magnetic separator placed under the vibrating sieve meets all the requirements and removes minuscule metal particles and weakly magnetic stainless steel particles as small as 30 µm from powders. How the magnet works. Stainless steel particles Solae is a food producer and, among other things, they process a residue

Next generation magnetic separators for food Height reduction and higher separation yield
Next generation magnetic separators for food
Height reduction and higher separation yield The Goudsmit Magnetics Group of Waalre (NL) introduces a new generation of magnetic separators. These are used to remove metal particles (>30 µm) from food like malt, rice, coffee, sugar, flour and cocoa. The Easy Clean flow magnet stands out from the competition due to its user friendly cleaning, improved flow and the high Gauss values of the bars. In contrast to previous designs, in which such magnets were fitted with two layers of thin (Ø25 mm) bars, the new design contains a single row of Ø50 mm thick bars. New measurement techniques, including simulations of magnetic fields and tests in the company’s own test centre, have shown that this results in a higher separation yield. This is because the thicker bars remain in contact with the magnetic particles longer. An additional benefit is the reduced height of the magnet as a whole, which means it requires less installation height. Moreover, a single row of bars results in improved product flow; which is particularly

Removal of metal contaminants Magnet or Metal Detector?
Removal of metal contaminants
Magnet or Metal Detector? Magnetic separators filter and remove metal contamination from your product streams. They guarantee the product quality and prevent damage to machines. Metal contaminants – also called foreign bodies – can enter your production line in all sorts of ways. Pieces of iron or steel in the raw material, staples, nails and screws from packaging, bolts and nuts that have vibrated loose, wear of the moving parts, rust or corrosion, etc. These foreign bodies can ’contaminate’ your finished product, and they can also cause severe damage to your machinery. Rejection of batches is costly, but it can be even more costly if the contamination is not detected and removed, making it necessary to conduct a product recall. You will then be faced with enormous costs and damage to your reputation. Magnet separator or metal detector? A magnetic separator filters (and later disposes of) or immediately removes the metal contaminants from the product stream. Magnetic separators

NEWLY DESIGNED MAGNETIC SEPARATOR BASED ON EHEDG GUIDELINES Company meets demanding requirements of dairy and baby food industry
NEWLY DESIGNED MAGNETIC SEPARATOR BASED ON EHEDG GUIDELINES
Company meets demanding requirements of dairy and baby food industry The Hydrohansu-type rotating cleanflow magnet recently introduced by Goudsmit Magnetic Systems BV of Waalre (NL) was developed in collaboration with producers of top-tier food products. The driving force was a pressing need for removal of very fine iron (Fe), AISI 304 and 316L particles in the dairy industry, for products such as baby food, yet it is also suitable for use in the sugar and lactose industry. Rotating magnets prevent the accumulation of fatty powders on the magnetic bars and guarantee a high level of separation. The new magnet system is hygienically designed in accordance with the EHEDG guidelines and can be cleaned semi-automatically. Hygienic design The single-piece, hydroformed housing is made entirely of grade 316 stainless steel and therefore has no dead ends, sharp corners or welded seams, which prevents bacterial growth. The complete system has a high quality surface finish (Ra ≤ 0.6 µm). The magnet rotor has pneumatically operated

Magnet separator for sale at Surplus Select Goudsmit SECF Cleanflow magnetic separator
Magnet separator for sale at Surplus Select
Goudsmit SECF Cleanflow magnetic separator Goudsmit SECF magnet separator with 800 x 400 mm product throughput opening and an overall height of 160 mm. Two magnetic grids with 13 and 14 magnet bars are in cascade configured. The magnetic separator is easy to clean without tools. The magnet unit gets pneumatically out the product flow and then the magnetic bars can be pulled out of the extractor tubes to let the Fe particles fall off. This Fe separator is suitable for free flowing powders and granulates and was used for sugar. Product no.: 2.66A2665 Visit our website for a complete overview of our used machinery in stock. Surplus Select is partner for the fluids and solids processing industry in CSR/re-use.

J-Tec designs a combined sieve and magnetic system according to the latest
J-Tec designs a combined sieve and magnetic system according to the latest
For over 40 years J-Tec is designing, installing and maintaining complete process installations in as well the chemical and the food industry. This acquired experience brings along the necessary know-how needed to provide tailor-made solutions for our customers. However every process challenge requires a customized approach, we dispose of a wide variety of standard developments which we can apply. Thanks to our numerous references in the food industry we understand that hygiene is a crucial element in every food installation. That is why J-Tec is continually looking for new technologies and innovative solutions in order to exclude any form of contamination. Whenever it comes to food installations we distinguish 3 different forms of contamination: •Bacteriological contamination •Contamination between different products •Contamination as a result of unwanted objects In order to avoid this last form of contamination, J-Tec has designed a combined sieve

Iron-free chemicals with magnets Software determines separation of metal parts
Iron-free chemicals with magnets
Software determines separation of metal parts At Achema in Frankfurt (Hall 6, stand J32), Goudsmit has been displaying a series of trap magnets which are currently being updated. These block-shaped magnet systems are easily mounted onto existing equipment. They remove all types of metal particles from either lower or upper material flow on a conveyor belt whether it be food, chemicals, synthetic or ceramic materials. This updated version is produced using Neoflux® magnets, which are four times stronger than traditional Ferroxdure magnets. These magnets can even capture RVS scrapings. The use of finite element analysis software determines right from the start whether or not the iron scrapings can be picked up. It also allows for the correct choice of magnet type. Application Whenever iron particles need to be removed whether it is from fine-grained, granular, or liquid materials, trap magnets can be used. They are easy to mount and can be delivered with flanges, or even with a customized mounting frame, where
