ACM 5 NEX: Innovative protection concept for batch powder coating
The new ACM 5 NEX offers numerous advantages of a simplified design – and is ATEX-compliant and tested for explosion protection. The classifier mills of the ACM series are reliable partners for ultra-fine grinding with integrated classifying of powder coatings. The new ACM 5 NEX offers numerous advantages of a simplified design – and is ATEX-compliant and tested for explosion protection. ACM 5 NEX classifier mill Hosokawa Alpine, a leading supplier in the field of powder and particle processing and film extrusion, introduces the ACM 5 NEX classifier mill: pressureless design, cost-effective and explosion-proof solution for the powder coating industry. Powder coatings are used in many different ways in the industry; the starting point for their production are raw materials such as pigments, fillers, resins, etc. By specifying a recipe, the raw materials are mixed, extruded and then rolled out on a cooling belt and broken into chips. To grind the chips, the grinding system must be pressure-shock resistant as powder coatings of explosion classes ST1 & ST2 are explosive. The maintenance of technical

Grinding and Classifying of Rare Earth Powders Their Use in Enhancing Quality in the Manufacture of Magnets
Grinding and Classifying of Rare Earth Powders
Their Use in Enhancing Quality in the Manufacture of Magnets Neodymium-iron-boron-magnets (Nd-Fe-B) are so-called rare earth magnets distinguished by their very high energy densities. A decisive factor for the quality and properties of permanent magnets is a narrow particle size distribution with the lowest possible fraction of finest- (< 2 µm) and coarsest particles (> 8 µm). The NETZSCH company offers innovative solutions to this application problem with a patent pending grinding process with downstream classifying of rare earth powders. The design of this process led to the development of jet mills and ultra-fine classifiers with which sensitive Nd-Fe-B-compounds or other rare earth alloys can be ground reliably to fine powders under inert gas operation giving a narrow particle size distribution and defined upper particle size limit with reproducible results. With NETZSCH m-Jet, a combination of a spiral jet mill with a dynamic air classifier, highest reproducible finenesses independent of the load in the gas jets are

World Premiere for Laboratory-Equipment at the Achema 2018 The LabCompactPlus by NETZSCH is setting new benchmarks for grinding plants for labs
World Premiere for Laboratory-Equipment at the Achema 2018
The LabCompactPlus by NETZSCH is setting new benchmarks for grinding plants for labs Today, in the chemical industry and especially for dry grinding well-appointed laboratories are a must for the development of new products, for process optimization as well as for the production of small samples. At this year´s Achema, NETZSCH Trockenmahltechnik will be exhibiting the LabCompactPlus for the first time, a modular mill-/classifier unit, which is setting new benchmarks with its user friendliness, compact design and flexibility. During the design phase of the LabCompactPlus we took typical laboratory conditions into consideration as well as drawing on our own experience from decades of operating a laboratory. At the end of its development the result is a plant with stable, reproducible throughput and high product yield whose production parameters can be selected flexibly by the user. The modular principle enables the installation of five different systems in the swivel arm of the plant. With the aid of individual connector sets for electricity and compressed

Eskens presents the Air Classifier RHEWUM ABX The high energy air classifier
Eskens presents the Air Classifier RHEWUM ABX
The high energy air classifier With the ABX classifier we were able to improve again the already very sharp dividing classifier type AWR! These enormously divisive sharp separators can be used due to their modular construction for most requirements. Rhewum high efficiency separator are the result of years of experience and development. A CFD simulation of the expected particle flow made it possible to design a very high dust loading up to 700 g/Nm3 and to achieve a pressure drop of only 9-12 mbar at a sharp separating classification. Furthermore, the material transport has been simplified: As a top loader one or two feeding points are enough, depending on the frame size, to disperse the feed safely. The finely by the rotor devided material then falls directly into the separation chamber, which is located between the air guide vanes and the classifying rotor. This ensures that the housing is not subject to blast wear. The rapidly rotating classifier wheel with his strips is made of wear-resistant
