Keep your Bulk Storage under Control

REMBE® offers the most comprehensive range of bulk silo monitoring devices. Its engineering, manufacturing and application competence ranges from simple bolt-on sensors over level indicators up to complete monitoring systems for containers of all kind.

To choose the right device for the right application is not easy at all. Due to the fact that REMBE® is independent of measuring techniques, we design the perfect solution according to customers demand and application requirements rather than selling something from the shelf.

Our first look is at the type of equipment that has to be monitored. Standard storage silos for instance can either be monitored by using Microcell® DMS strain gauge sensors. This maintenance-free sensor is just screwed onto the vessel support. It measures changes in the stress of material (expansion, compression, …) and converts this into a proportional voltage signal. The signal is digitalised by a connected electronic controller and directly displayed as weight (in t or kg). This way of measuring is suitable for storage or production silos in all sectors of industry (chemical, synthetic, food, cement, lime, …).

When it comes to skirted Silos the LESICOM® system is the first choice. Skirted silos are predominantly made of aluminium or stainless steel. However, the state of these silos presents a problem if the installation of a gravimetric weighing system is required. The walls of a skirted silo are usually 5 to 8 mm thick. When weighing cells are placed selectively at different points, there is a high risk that the silo’s own weight would deform the basis of the silo. That means, the silo will considerably be damaged. The self learning system LESICOM® / LESIBUS provides a reliable and cost effective weighing technique. The weighing system consists of eight semiconductor strain gauge sensors which are spread equally around the bottom of the silo. The sensors register – depending on the weight - the stress or compression of the material and convert it to a linear proportional strain signal.
