The company IKAŽ-WERKE GmbH & Co. KG with its headquarters in Staufen, Germany, has developed a new design of a conical dryer. The special features of the new IKAŽ drying system include shorter drying times by directly heated stirrer, a better mixing quality due to the slewing mechanism for the complete vessel and a simple tilting mechanism for opening of the vessel cover. The Conical Dryer is suited for vacuum contact drying of various wet solids of different flow behaviour as well as different bulk densities. Wet or sticky bulk material, filter cakes and muds can be easily processed with the IKAŽ Conical Dryer.
The plant can be operated under vacuum at temperatures up to 200°C and includes a directly heatable vessel with conical bottom and heatable special agitator, mounted to the cover. The drive speed is adjustable by means of frequency converter. To adapt the mixing results to the flow behaviour of the product the Conical Dryer is equipped with a top entry flow breaker. Resulting solvent vapours are extracted by a reversible flow dust filter mounted on the cover of the vessel.
The IKAŽ Conical Dryer has a low installation height and is manufactured in 9 different vessel sizes ranging from 10 l to 4000 l.
The new IKAŽ Conical Dryer type CD 100 will be exhibited on the ACHEMA 2009 in Frankfurt am Main/Germany, hall 5.0, booth B5-C6.
