Operational environmental management: ESTA is ISO 14001 certified

With the introduction of the internationally recognized environmental management system according to ISO 14001:2015, ESTA sets an example in terms of environment and sustainability.
Since the end of May it is official: The certification body of TÜV SÜD Management Service GmbH certified that ESTA meets all requirements of the environmental management standard ISO 14001:2015. With the introduction of the environmental management system, the family-owned company makes its commitment to sustainable business visible. The certificate is based on three aspects: Compliance with legislation and guidelines, management of environmental risks and continuous improvement of environmental performance in emissions, waste generation and energy consumption.

”We are proud that in addition to the already existing ISO 9001:2015 quality management standard, ESTA has now additionally obtained the ISO 14001:2015 environmental management standard. Our goal is to minimize our ecological footprint and thus make a positive contribution to environmental protection,” said a delighted initiator Regina Kulitz, who accompanied the audits on ESTA’s part as the environmental management officer and was the first to hold the certificate in her hands.

In accordance with its environmental guidelines, the extraction technology company continuously invests in the development of resource-saving products and is involved in numerous environmental initiatives. Almost all administrative and production areas have already been converted to modern LED technology. ESTA’s sales and assembly center uses the most advanced technologies, including heat pumps and photovoltaic systems. In 2007, this was recognized with the ”German Solar Prize”. The employees also cultivate a conscious use of natural resources and materials. The internal guidelines include regulations on waste reduction and avoidance. In addition, employee training courses are held on a regular basis. ”We also get our trainees on board right from the start: for example, they support the reforestation of our company forest near Ulm-Erbach every year. As part of an upcycling project, we recently repaired bicycles that were getting on in years and made them roadworthy again for business trips,” Kulitz said, summarizing the commitment of the junior staff and making it clear: ”Despite the very high environmental standards that we have achieved and implemented in our corporate processes, we are striving now and in the future to make further improvements and optimizations. After all, many small changes can make a big difference in the end.”
