The conventional methods for bulk flow measurement come up against limiting factors when it comes to the bulk industry. A highly reliable alternative is provided by Berthold Technologies with their radiometric belt weigher LB 442. Besides measurements of throughput and conveyor capability, the system is also able to determine the dry weight of the conveyed material by integrating an additional microwave moisture measurement.
The non-contacting and non-intrusive measurement technology is perfectly suited for applications in the bulk industry. Neither dust, temperature nor chemical or physical properties of the material can affect the measuring performance. The robust construction of the belt weigher with no moving parts benefits a low maintenance operation.
