STEINERT`s New Hybrid Technology Promises Efficiency Boost.

Further productivity improvements thanks to new type of hybrid drum from STEINERT

The MTE electric magnet drum separators from STEINERT are the global benchmark in metals processing. There’s hardly a shredder operator that doesn’t take advantage of these units’ high separation performance and long service life. STEINERT employees know that an awful lot of design details make this performance possible. One such important detail is the use of anodized aluminium strip for the coils. This coil material offers extremely good temperature resistance — and is manufactured in-house by STEINERT, thus ensuring quality in all details.

But there’s no resting on your laurels at STEINERT! The new MTE 340, with its working width of 3.40m, offers considerably more capacity thanks to its width alone. Furthermore, it has been designed from the ground up as a HYBRID system. The third pole is now a permanent-magnet, which increases the scope for even larger electromagnet coils in the separation area and so for an increased working distance.

Nowadays, the word hybrid stands for efficiency worldwide. So it wasn’t difficult for us to name this drum, with its combination of electromagnets and permanent magnets. This hybrid use of technologies offers a real increase in working distance of around 30 % to the current value of 450 mm!

Putting both changes together — working width and working distance — boosts the performance to approximately 72t/h or 25 t/h*m, and making it the ideal drum for today’s high-capacity shredders. Now, you can do without the expense and difficulty
