The Leakage Monitoring package involves controlling the flow rate and the temperature (using the 3-wire version of a Pt100 sensor) and detecting the occurrence of a leak both reliably and quickly. To meet the requirements re-lating to precision and safety, all sensors are connected to the PROFIBUS PA fieldbus. Such safety-related circuits include, for example, tuyere cooling at the blast furnace, lance cooling at the converter and water cooling of panels at the electric arc furnace and at the cupola melting furnace in foundries.
